Hanwha Vision TNO-C4040T is a VGA H.265 thermal network camera with a 640 × 480 uncooled microbolometer, 13 mm fixed athermalized F1.0 lens, and video output up to 30 fps. It combines high thermal sensitivity below 16 mK, person, vehicle, and vessel detection, secure network integration, and rugged IP66/IP67, IK10, and NEMA 250 Type 4X protection.

Technical Context

The uncooled microbolometer detects long-wave infrared energy in the 8-14 µm range, enabling thermal imaging independently of visible light. NETD below 16 mK improves sensitivity to small temperature variations, while WiseNR and AI-based WiseStream compression help preserve useful thermal detail and reduce bandwidth and storage requirements. Classified analytics identify people, vehicles, and vessels, and event rules can trigger recording, notifications, alarm outputs, HTTP/HTTPS/TCP messages, or MQTT publication.

AI detection distance reaches up to 108 m for people, 153 m for vehicles, and 366 m for vessels. According to Johnson's criteria, detection reaches up to 420 m for people and 1,074 m for vehicles, with identification distances of up to 53 m and 134 m respectively.

Installation Notes

The camera measures Ø107.3 × 275 mm and weighs approximately 2,000 g. It supports IEEE 802.3af PoE Class 3 or 12 V DC power, with maximum consumption of 7.8 W via PoE or 8.1 W via DC. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +60°C with 0-95% non-condensing humidity. The minimum object distance is 5 m. The USB Type-C port is intended for preview and installation and requires a Wi-Fi dongle. Optional conduit compatibility and single, double, 4-inch octagon, and square gang-box support are available.
